Viajes Ecólogicos y Sostentibles
¿VES? 2015 is an advocacy campaign created by Kiana and myself. As world travelers, we experience many different cultures and lifestyles, from the most luxurious to the limited. We have stayed at hotels, hostels, research centers, etc. While in Costa Rica, we observed how different the accomodations are. We noticed the hotels in the tiny Latin American country were more sustainable than any other. After asking questions and conducting hours of research, we decided to bring awareness to the issue. Hotels who do not take part in ecotourism programs waste billions of natural resources each year. They produce billions of pounds of waste each year and use hundreds of billions gallons of water. Using the tico phrase, "Pura Vida," we decided to promote the motto of pure life and sustainable living worldwide. As a result of this awareness campaign, everyone will have, "Pura Vida Pour La Vie."
Mission: to educate hotel clients/travelers about the detrimental impact that hotels have on the environment.
Goal: create a demand, resulting in the awareness of this campaign, for hotels to start using environmentally sustainable methods.
