Waterfall Swimming and Glamping

We are down to 3 girls and 3 boys, 3 tenth graders and 3 ninth graders. We had a later start today with breakfast at 8:30. We all got the glamping lifestyle down because we slept like babies on our foam mattresses while listening the the flow of the river and chirping strawberry poison dart frogs. We had pancakes and eggs then headed out on a hike to the other side of the Pacuare River. The Broadreach leaders and five healthy students swam in a little creek and then had a little too much fun drawing on ourselves with the clay like rocks. Elliot tried to become Simba and then a bikini model, Joe transformed into some sort of avatar with a purple stripe on his head, Anja was an umpa lumpa, and I was myself, but with much better defined abs. Kojo and the Flan Clan made sure to leave their mark for the next people.

After a delicious and well deserved lunch of burgers with guacamole, we headed on our second adventure. We took a little walk to a waterfall. We all swam around, dunked each other, and tackled our way into the powerful falling water. Kojo, Elliot, Gillian, and I all gained up to knock over Jonah, but all of our missions were unsuccessful. We never gave up though. Then, we walked to the main river and floated a bit until we reached our spot. It was so fun to get caught up in the current and just let the water carry you. We got into somewhat dry clothes and hung out in the hammocks until dinner. Pasta filled all of our tummies (except for Kojo's; He ate rice) and we ended our night with Roses, Buds, and Thorns while eating smores.
